Afghan Livestock: a 501(c)3 Non-Government Organization (NGO) dedicated to the mission of a sustainable modernized farming enterprise that provides Afghan windows with a job and a home.

Our mission is to house Afghan widows with their children and to provide farming jobs

The four decades of war coupled with serious drought have left 2.5 million widows faced with devastating poverty during an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Widows turn to begging on the streets and face unfathomable conditions of despair just to provide food for their children. Afghan Livestock will not only provide work opportunities for the widows but also serve as a model for post-conflict transition infrastructure in the region.

Afghan Livestock was the first thriving grassroots organization in Afghanistan to sustainably raise 2000 sheep, arguably the first technologically advanced operation in the South-East Asian region. Historically the south-east Asian region would limit the production of sheep to 300 due to a lack of infrastructure, business acumen, and resources.

The mission of the Afghan Livestock NGO is to empower disenfranchised widows by offering housing and earning so they may live a life of dignity.

Sheep Farming

Afghan Livestock farming infrastructure will introduce jobs through the handling and distribution of milk, meat, and wool. Afghan Livestock initiative is the only one of its kind in Afghanistan to harness widows skills while providing them and their children with earnings and a home.

Feeding the hungry

Food shortage is a public health crisis characterized by acute hunger and famine. More than one in two Afghans will be facing crisis or emergency levels of acute food insecurity through November 2021 to March 2022 requiring critical humanitarian interventions to meet basic food needs.

Support for Windows

The unmet needs of widows and their children like food/job in Afghanistan is increasing. Using the existing Afghan Livestock farming infrastructure to introduce jobs in the handling and distribution of milk, meat, and wool, we are sustaining financial support both through food and income

"Progress will come from sustainably transforming how we empower the people within Afghanistan."
